Squidge

Squidge are an alt-rock/grunge/punk band that I've been part of for nearly 3 years. This style of music has always been of interest to me, so to be part of a project like Squidge is great.

My role within Squidge musically is focused more in the arrangement and structure of songs over the songwriting elements. This is key at the current time as we are bouncing ideas for new material between each other ready for when we come out at the other end of this pandemic.

Prior to this, we managed to record 2 new singles (Simple Functions and 1 other yet to be released, found here - Unreleased Material) remotely, working alongside producer Bob Cooper. I spent a day in January with Calum Wotherspoon recording drums, which was a very smooth experience. Calum booked out a very lively sounding room to track the drums in and the outcome was great. I feel that this is some of my best playing to date.

Hopefully once the pandemic has calmed and normality returns in some form, Squidge will be recording a couple more singles, before going onto recording an EP comprised of brand-new songs.
